The Beginning

As of october 1st i will be moving from my beautiful 900sf loft in Downtown Los Angeles to a 450sf rustic cabin like structure (its a stretch to call it a house) in Silverlake. I am downsizing and i am making sacrifices but as someone who has always been hyper-aware of their impact in the world it is time that i live a life that will synch up with my beliefs. I have 2000sf of unused land to do my bidding. I will post pictures on my process and if my bounty is as it should be i invite everyone to share in the fruits of my labor. Feeding each other and eating together are two of the most basic forms of community, ones that i think as a society we have forgotten. Its time to take our community back, our land back and our lives back. Im tired of eating tomatoes that were shipped from thousands of miles away, im tired of having to choose between the lesser of two evils when im buying eggs and im tired of the incessant marketing, packaging and advertising of food that is a blatant attempt to mask what is really in it.

This is a project not only in conservation but also one in self reliance and a rejection of all the powers that be. I hope that anyone who reads this gains some inspiration, if not in order to start your own garden then to get your butt over to my house and share in the fruits of mine.
